All eight Perlis executive council (exco)  members, whose term of service will expire on March 18, have been reappointed for the next term.

They are Pauh sssemblyperson Syed Razlan Putra Jamalullail, Sabry Ahmad (Santan), Ahmad Bakri Ali (Kayang), Abdul Jamil Saad (Sena), Mat Rawi Kassim (Beseri), Jafperi Othman (Guar Sanji), Mansor Jusoh (Chuping) and Dr Por Choo Chor (Indera Kayangan).

All of them were sworn in for another one-year term, effective March 19, until the upcoming 13th general election before the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, at Istana Arau today.

However, no announcement has been made whether they will remain in their current portfolios or there would be a portfolio reshuffle when their reappointment period starts on March 19.

For the record, Syed Razlan currently holds the Investment, Trade, Industry and International Relations portfolio; Sabry (Agriculture, Agro-based Industries and Cooperative Development); Ahmad Bakri (Tourism, Health Rural Development); Abdul Jamil (Youth, Sports and Culture); and Mat Rawi (Land, Forestry, Environment and Enforcement).

Jafperi heads the state Islamic Religion Agama Islam, Hadhari and As-Sunnah Development Committee; Mansor Jusoh (Women Affairs, Welfare and  Consumer Affairs) and Dr Por (Housing and Local Government).

Also present were Perlis Menteri Besar Dr Md Isa Sabu, former Perlis menteri besar Dr Shahidan Kassim and Perlis state secretary Azizan Hamid.

Meanwhile, Sabry, when met by Bernama, said no changes would be made on the current portfolios and that he wowuld continue to hold the Agriculture, Agro-based Industries and Cooperative Development portfolio.

He said he will bear the responsibility (portfolio held) entrusted to him until the general election which will be held anytime soon.
