Some 15,550 letters of demand will reportedly be filed in court next Thursday to demand the Selangor government to fulfil its election promises.

“The programme to claim the promises have been running for two months in Gombak, Kelana Jaya, Kuala Selangor and Pandan.

“We ask the people to open their eyes and don’t be fooled by Pakatan Rakyat’s agenda, which makes manifestos but does not deliver,” Badan Bertindak Rakyat Selangor chairperson Said Anuar Ahmad was quoted saying.

NONE However, the report in the Malay daily Sinar Harian today did not mention in which court the letters would be filed.

Said Anuar claimed that he had received a memorandum from guardians of preschool children led by Selayang Umno chief Abdul Shukur Idrus ( left ), demanding a RM50 per month aid promised to each preschooler in the government’s 2008 election manifesto.  

Some 100 guardians had attended the rally in Selayang where Abdul Shukur handed Anuar the memorandum along with a letter of demand to be passed to his legal team.

Various groups, including single mothers , senior citizens and bulk water-meter users have taken action against the Selangor government in the past for allegedly failing to deliver its election promises.

Selangor MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim in January said he welcomed legal action and would wait to listen to the various demands in court.

"In our view, we have done more than what we have promised. We have done them and it has been nearly five years already. That is why I want to listen to their demands in the court," Khalid said.
