Doris Sophia Brodi has been reappointed for a second three-year term as a senator and deputy president of the Dewan Negara.
Doris Sophia Brodi has been reappointed for a second three-year term as a senator and deputy president of the Dewan Negara.
She took her oath of office today before Dewan Negara president Abu Zahar Ujang in the Dewan Negara at Parliament House, witnessed by fellow senators.
Doris Sophia, 53 ( right ), who is from Miri, is the chief of the women’s wing of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).
She was appointed a senator on March 12, 2010. She was made the deputy president of the upper house of Parliament on Jan 26 last year, becoming the first woman from Sarawak to be appointed to the post.
