According to him, the festival themed, ‘Sustain Goodwill and Understanding through Kaamatan’ would be officially opened by Chief Minister Musa Aman.
“Kota Belud has also been chosen to host the state-level festival next year,” said Pairin, who is also state Infrastructure Development Minister and the Huguan Siou (paramount chief for the Kadazandusun Murut community).
He earlier chaired a meeting in conjunction with the festival, which was attended by district and sub-district representatives at Bangunan JKR in Sembulan, near Kota Kinabalu today.
Pesta Kaamatan is celebrated annually in Sabah for one month from May 1 until 31.
