“We are a group of independent cartoonists who are doing this on our own. We are not receiving payment or instruction from any political party,” said Kumpulan Kartunis Independent chief Zulkiflee SM Anwar Ulhaque.
“It is just that we agree to support the Pakatan Rakyat manifesto. We believe in the manifesto not out of support of any party, but for the rakyat,” he said at a press conference at PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
The caricaturist better as Zunar heads the group of roughly 35 cartoonists who have created cartoons based on the manifesto to press home the messages.
The drawings will be rendered on T-shirts, animations and booklets.
Zunar said they have already started their programme in Pahang, Perak and Malacca.
“Next week we will do it at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa,” he said, adding they have a van for the purpose.
