Former Penang chief minister, the late Dr Lim Chong Eu's ( below right in photo ) youngest son, Chien Cheng, is tipped vie for the Bukit Bendera parliamentary seat.

According to The Star, Ching Cheng, a lawyer, the youngest of Lim's four sons is set to follow his late father's footsteps.

The report also said Gerakan leaders were taken by surprise at the news as he had not been active in the party for over 10 years .

The daily also said that party state chairperson Teng Cheng Yeow, is expected to contest the Bukit Tengah state seat.

Former Bukit Bendera MP and former Gerakan secretary-general Chia Kwang Chye, a three-term Bukit Bendera MP, is expected to be the BN candidate for the Tanjung Bungah state seat.

Putrajaya PAS chief Mohamad Nazir Zakaria, said PAS' chances of victory in that parliamentary constituency are bright if Husam ( right ) is chosen as the incumbent BN's Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who is Umno secretary-general, won by only by a slim majority.

"It is not impossible for Husam to win in Putrajaya as in the 12th general election Federal Territory PAS commissioner Mohamad Noor Mohad's loss to Tengku Adnan was narrow.

"However, it is up to the PAS central leadership to decide on it (Husam's candidacy)," he was quoted as saying.
