Rosmah Mansor, wife of the prime minister, today advised IT-savvy young people against easily believing stories circulating on the Internet, including libellous information about her.

NONE She said that as educated people, they should not easily believe the posts on the Internet without checking on the validity of the source.

"Now, there is a web post which alleges that I pretended to host a special prayer (for the safety and well-being of the security forces fighting the Sulu terrorists in Sabah).

"Therefore, do not believe easily all information posted on the Internet," she said when opening a seminar on "Young People, the Country's Asset" and the Selangor Youth Council (MBS) annual meeting in Shah Alam.

Verify truth

Rosmah said young people, as the country's priceless asset, should verify the truth of posts on the Internet.

She said they should not tarnish the good name of their family and the country.

Be the country's priceless asset and do not misbehave, like participating in unruly demonstrations, she added.

Rosmah said they should learn from the intrusion by the Sulu terrorists in Sabah as the incident proved that the country's peace could come under threat at any time.

They should not only have fun, but also appreciate the peace enjoyed by the people in the country, she added.

At the function, Rosmah also launched the Lahad Datu Warriors Fund, an initiative of the MBS to help families of members of the security forces killed by the Sulu terrorists in Lahad Datu and Semporna.
