Pointless for Ong to try to change BN from within

YOURSAY 'Tee Keat, you won't make any difference in BN because Umno would sideline you. Against Umno, you would be just a one-man army.'

Rafizi tells Tee Keat: Be brave, embrace Pakatan

your say Mahashitla: PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli is absolutely right that Umno-BN can never change. If there is to be any meaningful change, it can only come from Pakatan Rakyat.

Pandan MP Ong Tee Keat is sleepwalking if he thinks that he can become MCA president again to make meaningful changes.

Ong should wake up and join Pakatan Rakyat's noble efforts to rid this nation of those Umno shackles, which are holding the nation captive and which are the source of all the problems we face today.

Vote-For-Change: Ong, you are too decent a man to be in MCA. You tried to change BN from within but failed, but at least you tried.

Now is the time for you to do the right thing - quit MCA and join Pakatan. I am sure PKR or DAP would welcome you and provide you a platform to continue your pursuits.

Your loyalty is to Malaysia and not to any political party. Give Malaysia a chance.

Multi Racial : Ong Tee Keat should either join Pakatan, or retire from politics with some pride. For him to leave his fate in the hands of Chua and Najib is not worth it.

I agree with Rafizi that Ong has been courageous. He has tried to change BN from within but he was sidelined for that.

So it is time for him to switch sides. With Pakatan, Ong can go far. With BN, even if they give him a seat, he would still lose.

Between Pakatan's Rafizi and BN's Ong, I will vote for Pakatan. I believe the majority of Malaysians would do the same. So Ong, the ball is in your court.

Appum: Ong Tee Keat, I have commented in your Malaysiakini interview that you had missed the opportunity to join Pakatan.

You are going down the wrong political path in hoping that Prime Minister Najib Razak would offer you a seat and end up being obligated to him (Umno).

But Rafizi has given you another lifeline. This is like the salted fish coming back to life, as the Chinese saying goes.

This is your final chance. From Pakatan's side you can do battle with your No 1 enemy, MCA chief Chua Soi Lek. This is politics. If you can't see this, then it's ‘sayonara' (goodbye) to you. Mind you, there is no gravy train in Pakatan.

Anonymous_4031: Ong Tee Keat is a lone ranger; he had exposed the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal by calling in an accounting firm to do up a report on the PKFZ. Though many in the cabinet tried to block it, Ong went ahead in getting the report done and publish it.

In so doing, he has stepped on some sensitive toes. Obviously, those people affected by it have had sleepless nights and are unhappy with his bravado.

The question that arises now is whether the BN chairperson will field him in Pandan. If, indeed, he is picked, then MCA president Chua Soi Lek might as well quit.

The public humiliation will be total, since he has openly named his choice of the Pandan candidate. Will Najib listen to him?

Jiminy Qrikert: Sometimes, it makes more sense to vote for the person than the party because the person is doing the right thing for the rakyat while the party betrays the rakyat.

Ong is one such person you vote for while rejecting the party, but since the seat will go to the party, then there is no choice but to reject the person as well.

So, if Ong stands under BN, the Pandan folks will need to reject Ong, regardless of his great service and reputation. This is a small sacrifice for the greater good of the nation and the rakyat.

Pandan folks must accept that it is time the rakyat act with courage to:

1) deliver Pakatan to Putrajaya by kicking out BN;

2) ensure MCA is wiped-out completely from Selangor, and

3) transcend the racial barrier and drive home the message that we want elected representatives who are race-blind in caring and fighting for the rakyat by electing Rafizi in a Chinese-dominant seat.

Anon1234: Ong, forget about MCA, they will be wiped out. Your contribution is to get out of MCA and join Pakatan for transparency and honest hard-working people. You won't make any difference in BN, because Umno would sideline you.

Against Umno, you would be just a one-man army, powerless. Voters today will go for the party and no longer the individual. So be brave, and get out of BN.

JayJay: Tee Keat, how do you want the future generations of Chinese to remember you? You should know what we think about racial parties like Umno, MCA, MIC, etc.

Don't be left behind. Join in the fight and be counted as a member of bangsa Malaysia.
