Persatuan Bekas Polis Malaysia (PBPM) today lodged a police report against a syndicate believed to be using the name of the Selangor PBPM to solicit funds for the Lahad Datu Heroes Fund and families of the deceased.

PBPM secretary-general Rohani Ahmad Jalis lodged the report at the Putra Police station situated at Jalan Haji Eusoff, Complex Damai, in Kuala Lumpur tonight.

"People should not be fooled by the action of the syndicate by donating money because the PBPM has not directed any branch or state to collect money for the fund," he said in a statement today.

Rohani said PBPM had already made a donation towards the Lahad Datu Heroes Fund through Polis Diraja Malaysia, recently.
