PKR has been urged to stop demanding for DAP to give way in Bakri or Segamat because the former has already been allocated two new seats to contest in.

In a press release today, Johor DAP chief Dr Boo Cheng Hau said Pakatan Rakyat had agreed that PKR will contest in Tebrau and Johor Bahru, previously contested by PAS and Parti Rakyat Malaysia respectively.

"For Johor PKR to insist on getting additional parliament seats such as Bakri or Segamat parliament seats from the DAP, it is not only deemed unreasonable but Johor PKR shows a lack of fraternity," he said.

Johor PKR is eyeing the two seats after ceding the rights to contest in Gelang Patah to DAP.

Boo pointed out that PKR and DAP have been allocated one additional Parliamentary seat each compared to the last general election. PKR will be fielding 11 candidates while DAP will field seven.

"Even though DAP contested one additional Parliamentary seat in this election, we still have the least number of parliament seats to contest in Johor as compared to PKR and PAS," said Boo.

PAS has been allocated eight Parliamentary seats, ceding the rights to contest in Tebrau to PKR. But it will be contesting 28 out of 56 state legislative assembly seats, down three from 2008.

PAS has given way in five state assembly seats for PKR (three seats) and DAP (two seats).

"I would like to urge the Johor PKR to look at the bigger political scenarios and  respect the goodwill of both the Johor PAS and DAP to accept the proposed allocation of parliament seats and be willing to accept more state seats than targeting the DAP seats only," said Boo.

Yesterday, Johor PKR had revealed that it wants the right to contest in Segamat after ceding rights to contest in Gelang Patah.
