Wanita Pakatan Rakyat viewed BN's promise to build daycare centres throughout the country with doubt as this could not even be done in Parliament.

Wanita DAP secretary Teo Nie Ching said she and PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, both young mothers, had proposed this back in November last year.

"It's been half a year and there is still no such facility in Parliament. Now, the prime minister is talking about having 1Malaysia day care centres nationwide.

"I doubt his sincerity in making such a promise," said Teo during a press conference by Wanita Pakatan at the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

The coalition also questioned Najib's promise to increase the female work force to 55 percent in 2015, from 46 percent currently.

"(He wants to do it) in two years... Is this realistic?... How can we trust his other promises?" she said.

Muslimat PAS vice-chief Mumtaz Mat Nawi said the many promises BN has made to the women folk were questionable because the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry was only allocated RM50 million for Budget 2013.

She said that in comparison, there were 14 million women in the country.

"Thus what they are promising are unlikely to become reality," she said.

Also present during the press conference were Wanita PKR chief Rodziah Ismail and deputy Muslimat PAS chief Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.
