FGV to pay out second dividend in July

Come July, Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGV) Bhd will pay out dividends to 180,000 share holders after the interim dividend was paid out in November last year.
Its chairperson, Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, said the second dividend would be paid after an FGV annual general meeting with shareholders scheduled on June 28, a year after it was listed on Bursa Malaysia.
"Payments of 8.8 sen per share will be made in early July, whereby settlers will obtain dividends between RM400 and RM500 each as they were given 800 units previously," he said in a speech at a function with Felda Gugusan Chini settlers at the Felda Training Centre near Pekan yesterday.
He said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had announced last August that FGV shareholders were eligible for interim dividend of 5.5 sen a share.
“This means that settlers and shareholders have benefited from FGV’s listing with profit of RM1 billion last year,” he added.
Mohd Isa hoped settlers would not be easily taken up by the opposition’s lies on Felda.
“For the past 50 years, the opposition has hurled all kinds of allegations on Felda, but what we can see now is that everything Felda does is for the benefit of settlers,” he said.
