Nine more people, including two women between their 20's and 50's have been hauled up under the Security Offences Act (Special Measures) 2012 (Sosma) at several places in Beluran, Sandakan early today.

NONE Sabah Police Commissioner Hamza Taib ( right ) said the suspects, who lived in the areas, were arrested between 8pm last night and 10am today for allegedly having information and links with Sulu armed terrorists.

"The arrests, which provide us with new leads, were made under Section 130 (c) of the Penal Code to be read together Sosma," he told reporters in Kota Kinabalu today.  

He said the police seized documents, cash and machetes from the suspects.

Meanwhile, Hamza reminded residents not to believe reports in the Philippine media that hundreds of Sulu terrorists were preparing to cross the Sulu waters to invade Sabah's east coast to create chaos.

He said business was as usual in Lahad Datu while the security situation in areas which used to be under siege by the terrorists, namely Tanjung Labian, Kampung Tanjung Batu and Kampung Lok Buani was returning to normal.

Meanwhile, the security forces buried the remains of 17 terrorists Islam according to Islamic rites at a location in Sabah.
