Umno veteran Sanusi Junid has described Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali as a person more principled than opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
"Ibrahim is more consistent than Anwar. Ibrahim is more principled than Anwar," Sanusi says in an interview with Mingguan Malaysia , the Sunday edition of Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia .
Sanusi (

), a former Kedah menteri besar, said Ibrahim would not compromise on his principles and would leave an organisation, if necessary.
As such, he said, Ibrahim was sometimes seen as changing sides but he ultimately maintained his principles.
In contrast, Sanusi likened Anwar to the famed local actor P Ramlee.
"Anwar is like an artiste. He is good entertainer which is why when he speaks people will go to listen.
"P Ramlee, too, was a popular artiste, but when he entered politics... he lost. People asked, why try to be a politician when you should be an artiste," Sanusi is quoted as saying.
He added that Anwar could only stand out by taking aim at Umno and recruiting former Umno members to his side.
"He is able to stand out for being a champion in hating Umno and BN, which is why he recruited these people (disenchanted Umno members) to be with him," Mingguan Utusan further quotes Sanusi as saying.
