PKR names ex-Kedah deputy state sec for Langkawi
Former Kedah deputy state secretary Ahmad Abdullah, 64, was named as the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate for the Langkawi parliamentary seat in the 13th general election.
Former Kedah deputy state secretary Ahmad Abdullah, 64, was named as the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate for the Langkawi parliamentary seat in the 13th general election.
PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail also told a press conference here today that former MP for Kuala Kedah, Ahmad Kassim, 50, will contest the Kuah state seat.
The opposition will field Langkawi PAS chairman Zubir Ahmad, 50, as candidate for Ayer Hangat state seat.
Langkawi parliamentary seat, Kuah and Ayer Hangat state seats were won by BN in the 2008 general election.
The PKR candidates in Kedah are secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (Kulim/Bandar Baharu), vice-president N Surendran (Padang Serai), Nor Azrina Surip @ Nurin Aina Abdullah (Merbok), Azman Ismail (Kuala Kedah), Johari Abdul (Sungai Petani) and Gooi Hsiao Leung (Alor Setar).
