With his supporters deciding last night to halt all election campaign activities, Gelang Patah MCA division chief Jason Teoh said today he will decide on his next move after the candidate for the parliamentary constituency is officially announced.

NONE Teoh said he had to consider many factors, including the sentiments of his supporters, whether to continue to fight for the seat, give up, defect to the opposition or contest as an Independent candidate.

Teoh ( right ), who has worked the ground for more than 10 years and was tipped to be the candidate before DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang decided to take on Gelang Patah, argued that it was unfair to claim that he could not garner the support of Chinese voters against Lim.

According to Oriental Daily News , he met reporters at his office in Gelang Patah this morning to respond to media reports that MCA has resolved to give Gelang Patah to Umno, which will field caretaker Johor Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman there.

azlan Ghani is said to be the most winnable candidate to face Lim, who moved from Ipoh Timor to Gelang Patah with the ambition of creating a ‘political tsunami’ in southern Johor.

Teoh conceded that the possible change of candidates at the eleventh hour was a “headache” as his campaign team was well-prepared to face the uphill battle.

Following last night’s objection, a second wave of protests will be held by his supporters tonight in the constituency.

BN chairperson Najib Abdul Razak has delivered appointment letters for the coalition’s candidates this morning in Kuala Lumpur and Ghani will officially announce the list for Johor tomorrow morning.
