PKR and PAS are demanding to field their own candidates in the state seats of Bukit Besi, Bandar and Seberang Takir in Terengganu in the 13th general election.

PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail "beat the gun" by announcing four names for state seats namely Telemong (Narawi Embong), Permaisuri (Wan Mokhtar Wan Ibrahim) and Bandar (Azan Ismail) and Bukit Besi (Mohd Shamsul Mat Amin) yesterdday.

"Yes, there is an overlap. This is a normal thing in a coalition. The matter is still open to discussion.

"We are just waiting for the mandate from (PKR de facto leader) Anwar Ibrahim," she told reporters after announcing the four names in Kuala Terengganu.

She added that the names of the party's candidates for the Seberang Takir and Kota Putera state seats would be announced very soon.

Meanwhile, PAS' three candidates for Bukit Besi, Seberang Takir and Bandar are asking the state and central PAS leadership to field them, claiming they were more "winnable" than the PKR candidates.

The trio are Naraza Muda (Bukit Besi), Mohd Nordin Mahmood (Seberang Takir) and Ahmad Shah Muhamed (Bandar).

PAS president Hadi Awang is expected to announce the full list of the party's candidates for parliament and state seats in Terengganu on April 18.
