Its media spokesperson for the 13th general election, Supt Muhamad Hanifah Abdul Malek, said among the acts of sabotage were burning and ripping of party flags and splashing paints on party posters.
"Since April 9, seven reports were lodged by various parties in Kuala Pilah, Jelebu, Port Dickson and Nilai.
"However, no arrest was made so far and the police are monitoring the situation in all areas," he told a press conference here today.
He said those arrested committing the offence could be charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of two years, or fine, or both, upon conviction.
Muhamad Hanifah said all election machineries of the contesting parties were advised to monitor the activities of their agents to ensure that they would not get involved in such acts.
"Political party members and supporters are also advised to observe personal safety when putting up the posters and flags," he added.
