The Ministry of Finance has received reliable reports that Zionist lobbyists attempted to interfere in the country's political affairs by funding certain parties contesting the 13th general election (GE13). 

Incumbent Deputy Finance Minister Awang Adek Hussin said Bank Negara is monitoring the activity and hopes that the relevant authorities investigate the matter.     

"This is probably due to the country's strong support for the struggle of the Palestinians which displeased them," he told reporters after presenting cost of living allowance to 566 fishermen, Bachok, today. 

On another note, Awang Adek said that he also received reports of attempts to bribe voters with RM200-RM300 by several individuals who made house calls in Kampung Sungai, Perupuk.     

The voters claimed that before giving the money, they were told to swear in front of the Quranic verse 'Yaasin' to vote for a particular candidate, said the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Bachok parliamentary seat.     

A similar tactic was also detected in Tawang constituency and may be happening in many other areas in Kelantan.     

The incumbent deputy minister called for an immediate stop to such activities.     

He was accompanied by three BN candidates; Ilias Hussin (Jelawat), Zaidi Sidek (Perupuk) and  Mohd Zain Yassin (Tawang).
