A part-time cameraman with Kelantan RTM, Mohamed Yaakub, 61, died, believed to be after suffering a heart attack after he was involved in a scuffle with a political party supporter in front of his house near a PAS base in Bandar Lama in Gua Musang early today.

His wife, Wan Thahirah Wan Ibrahim, 52, said she was rudely awakened from sleep after her husband sounded the horn several times after arriving in front of his house at about 12.45am.

Shocked by the repeated sound of the horn, Wan Thahirah quickly opened the window to see what was happening outside.

She said Mohamed had honked the horn to signal the owner of the vehicle that was blocking his way but a scuffle ensued, prompting her to scream to stop the fight.

"Following the commotion, three men came to help my husband, who appeared weak and having breathing difficulties, to enter the house," she said.

Wan Thahirah said her husband managed to swallow the pill for his heart ailment, but his condition turned critical.

He was rushed to the Gua Musang Hospital, but he died on the way, she said.

A post-mortem was conducted on Mohamed before his remains were handed to his family for burial.

Wan Thahirah said she had lodged a police report at the Gua Musang district police headquarters.

Acknowledging that her husband had heart problems, she nevertheless regretted the scuffle and hoped the police would conduct a thorough investigation.

Police have not responded on the incident yet.

Mohamed was buried at the Kampung Batu Papan Muslim Cemetery in Gua Musang at noon.

He is survived by a wife and seven children.
