There will be no succor for Pakatan Rakyat supporters found to be responsible for political or election-linked violence, said Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"We will not defend them, if anyone from Pakatan is found to be involved," he said.

Anwar was responding to BN allegations that Pakatan supporters were behind recent attacks against its election infrastructure.

However, he said while it is not surprising that the blame would fall on Pakatan, he urged cooler heads to prevail.

NONE "Of course, when anything is wrong in this country, ini salah Anwar (it is Anwar's fault).

"Now is not the time to insinuate, but for the police to take swift action, and for all to support the police," reasoned Anwar ( right ).

He also argued that the violent attacks were not new and Pakatan too - including his own person - have been the target of political violence.

Anwar lamented that the lack of strident police action and serious prosecution then may have led to perpetrators into believing that they can act with impunity, with the subsequent rise in such acts.

However, he praised the police for their stern action now and has pledged his party's support to  the authorities.

In the months prior to the dissolution of Parliament, Pakatan campaign vehicles and ceramahs became the target of attacks, apparently by BN supporters.

Since the nominations, several attacks have occurred against Pakatan campaign workers and infrastructure, and last week, “professionally constructed” improvised explosive devices were found near BN operation centres, with one detonating.

Meanwhile, it was reported that a petrol bomb had been used to set fire to another of the incumbent ruling party's campaign facility.
