The Attorney-General's Chambers has yet to receive the investigation paper pertaining to Tuesday's explosion at the Nibong Tebal BN operations centre in Penang.

In the incident, a security worker was injured when an improvised explosive device was triggered.

Deputy solicitor-general II, Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah said he was informed that the police were still investigating the incident, which included tracking down those linked to the explosion.

The case could be investigated under the Explosives Act, he told a media conference at the Attorney-General's Chambers in Putrajaya today.

On Tuesday, a BN 'ceramah' was marred by the incident which occurred at the back of the stage while Penang Gerakan chairperson Teng Hock Nan was speaking.

Tun Majid also said that since yesterday, five people were brought before the magistrate's court to be charged for various election offences.

They were charged with preventing civil servants from carrying out their duties, injuring the victim and committing criminal threats with a knife.

Tun Majid said, two more would be charged at the magistrate's court in Bukit Mertajam, Penang and in Kunak, Sabah for using a knife to threaten a victim.

Apart from that, 111 cases were directed for further investigation, he said.
