Three men were remanded for four days by the magistrate’s court in Nibong Tebal today to help in investigation into the blast at a Barisan Nasional (BN) ceramah in Jawi on Tuesday.

The order to remand the trio, aged between 25 and 41, until April 29 was made by magistrate Siti Salwa Jaafar.

They were arrested in George Town, Bukit Mertajam and Seberang Perai Selatan yesterday.

The blast occurred at 10.15pm when Penang Gerakan chairperson Teng Hock Nan was giving a ceramah before 3,000 people.

A security worker, 35, was injured on the leg in the blast which police confirmed was caused by an improvised expolosive device.
