DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has left it to the Johor leadership to deal with its deputy chairperson Norman Fernandez, who dropped a bombshell asking voters not to choose PAS.

"This is his own view; it does not represent the party,” Lim said in a press conference after visiting Taman Jawi Jaya.

NONE "We will let DAP Johor deal with this," he added.

Fernandez ( right ), in a blog, had called on voters to reject PAS in Johor if they do not wish to risk their future.

PAS, said Fernandez, would do anything to gain power, due to the party's "unilateral stand and the deep reluctance to be a true partner in Pakatan Rakyat".

"(PAS’) unwillingness to subscribe to its ideals let alone agree and accept the common manifesto of Pakatan must be enough to convince non-Muslims of the grave danger of risking their votes for PAS,” he had written.

Despite the call Fernandez to voters to reject PAS, Lim continued to urge the public to support Pakatan Rakyat in the coming general election.

"If you see PAS (logo), vote for PAS, if DAP, vote for DAP, if PKR vote for PKR," he said.

Earlier, Lim met with some 200 people who waited for him under the sweltering heat.

Accompany him were candidates Mansor Othman ( Nibong Tebal ), Chow Kon Yeow ( Padang Kota ) Soon Lip Chee ( Jawi ), Ng Wei Aik ( Tanjong ) and Maktar Shapee ( Sungai Bakap ).

'Don't believe the nambikei'

The event later turned out to be a photo and autograph signing session.

Lim also warned the Indian voters to be cautious of supporting BN.

"Do not believe the nambikei (trust) touted by (BN chief and caretaker Prime Minister) Najib Abdul Razak, as he has chosen someone who is anti-Hindu to represent BN," he said.

This was in referrence to Perkasa vice-president Zulkifli Noordin, who is contesting the Shah Alam parliamentary seat under the BN ticket.

The same goes for BN-backed Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali, who is contesting in the Pasir Mas parliamentary seat.

"They can make their own judgments to see if BN will defend the rights of the Indians," he added, saying it was still uncertain how Indians in the rural area would vote.

"But we will work hard," vowed the Bagan parliament and Air Puteh candidate.

Asked on Norman's posting in Johor Baru earlier today, state DAP chief Dr Boo Cheng Hau said Norman should be more cautious in making such a statement during election time.

“This will confuse the situation. I'm not a Catholic, so I cannot give advice related to religion...

“So, I advise him that it is better for him to call up the bishop in Kuala Lumpur or archbishop of Malaysia, or call the Pope in Vatican,” Boo said.
