Go back to Kelantan, Mahathir tells Husam

your say Onyourtoes: Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, there is nothing great about you building Putrajaya.

It is your Disneyland which you played with using unlimited allocations from our oil revenue and taxpayers' money. Which idiot, if not you, would fill the ravines in Putrajaya and then build bridges over them?

Don't belittle Kelantan, which the federal government has starved of with their deserved allocations. And please don't die yet; I hope you will get to see how Pakatan Rakyat builds a new Malaysia when they control Putrajaya.

James1067: The civil service has lost its pride and freedom due to the many civil servants who bow down to the politicians. These leaders choose to serve them in order to receive promotions and perks.

Because of them, the rest have lose their respect, dignity, pride and their rightful authority.

It is time to regain this pride. Send a signal to the leaders and politicians that you are an institution of your own free will and not subject to any politician's whims.

KB Menon : James 1067, I agree with you. It is high time the civil servants regain their dignity and not be seen as Umno-BN's fixed deposit. It is demeaning to be referred to as such. Please send a clear message that you are capable of independent thought and you will not be trifled with.

In Japan, the PM and government come and go with 'underwear changing' regularity but the country still runs smoothly because of the strong and independent civil service. Be like them. Reassert your apolitical stance.

Ksn: Mahathir's call to Husam to go back Kelantan is uncalled for, and uncivilised. Who is this man to make such a call?

It is also an insult to the voters in Putrajaya who are mostly civil servants. It is their right to choose who they want as their MP.

I believe they are up to the challenge to unseat Umno's Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and with that make Putrajaya a forbidden place for Mahathir.

131331: Mahathir, before you ask this honest man to go back to Kelantan to fix the problems there, don't you think you ought to go back to your country of origin for the rampant allegations made against you for fixing Sabah with fake ICs?

Don't fool the others that only people from BN are capable candidates. Ask yourself, how many corrupt leaders are there in Umno, and if there is less than all the opposition candidates put together, then it merits you to open your mouth. Otherwise shut up.

Equalizer98: But my dear doctor-outside-the-house, if there are any problems in Kelantan, they are caused by arrogant corrupt warlords in Putrajaya schooled by you, who refuse to let Kelantan have its rightful share of federal funds and oil royalties.

It is only proper that PAS candidate Husam brings the fight to Putrajaya. May he be blessed with success.

John 3: 16: The crowd that attended Pakatan's ceramah at Putrajaya spooked Mahathir. He thought a few hundred might come and never expected them to be in the thousands .

Chai Kor: Mahathir, PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat's ceramah had an audience of 6,000 in Putrajaya on Friday, and you only have 1,000 ‘paid' audience the next day.

OMG : How could Mahathir insult the rural folk by proclaiming that they are living in backwater places?

Their places would have been as developed as Kuala Lumpur if not for the country's revenue looted by Umno politicians, their family members and their cronies. Otherwise, the entire country would be as developed as Singapore, and perhaps be even better.

K B Menon: If Putrajaya is such a secure seat for Umno-BN, why is Mahathir personally campaigning there? There must be an element of doubt and fear for this to happen. Each time he opens his mouth to say something (mostly rubbish these days), it only makes the rakyat angrier.

Ferdtan: It is shameful for a prime minister of over 20 years to talk in such a childish way. Either he is senile or he is so scared of losing his legacy soon after May 5, that he is speaking incoherently.

TehTarik: Instead of Husam, it is Mahathir who should go back to retirement in Kedah. He is a product past expiry date, who is still spewing putrid words. Like rancid expired food, he stinks whenever he opens his mouth.

Dark Knight: It is absolutely wrong to demean a person of good standing by telling him to fry banana fritters.

Tell us, Mahathir, as to how you and your sons became billionaires after your stint as a fritter seller in your younger days. Unlike you, Husam Musa has no greed for power nor does he indulge in corruption and abuse of power for personal gains.

Bluemountains: Some people tend to talk nonsensical things when they become old. Going by his logic, anyone who sells pisang goreng has a good chance of becoming a prime minister.

Will he ask one of his sons Mukhriz Mahathir to go back to Alor Setar to sell pisang goreng? It will certainly improve his chances of becoming the next prime minister.

Absalom: Dr M, it is very unbecoming of an ex-PM to deride and insult Husam Musa the way you did.

However, there is a bright side to this, as you just revealed more of the vile, vicious and ugly side of you. And by your remarks, perhaps you have managed to drive many BN supporters and fence-sitters to vote for Husam.

By the way, if you had not denied Kelantan its fair share of the oil royalties, the state would have been much better off. So, as with many things wrong in the country, you are also responsible for that.

And just to put things into perspective, how would you have liked it if former PM Tunku Abdul Rahman had told you during his time that you better go back to Kerala and learn how to make and sell roti canai before having ambitions of becoming PM?

Calvert Yap Umno under this fellow can only say ‘Chinese go back to China, Indians go back to India' and this is a new version, ‘Malays go back to Kelantan'.
