Four men will be charged separately at the Alor Setar, Gerik and Bukit Mertajam Magistrates Courts today for election offences, deputy solicitor-general II Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah said.
The offences include burning political flags, criminal intimidation and assault.
During a press conference at the Attorney-General's Chambers in Putrajaya yesterday, Tun Majid said 262 election related cases were pending further investigations.
Referring to the bomb explosion at the Barisan Nasional political rally in Nibong Tebal, Penang on April 24, he said preliminary investigation showed that the three suspects were not connected to the incident.
The three men between 25 and 41 who had been remanded for four days to facilitate investigations had been released on police bail last night, he added.
Commenting on the murder of the Customs deputy director-general (customs/internal tax) Shaharuddin Ibrahim last Friday, he said they had not received the investigation report on the case yet as it just happened a few days ago.
