“Huh? How can? I don’t believe it at all, that one could book flights and fly Sabahans or Sarawakians (to Peninsular Malaysia), or (peninsula) Malaysians to Sabah and Sarawak (like that)!” Aziz exclaimed.
“But there are people who have transferred their address from one place to another because they have moved house, and this is legal under the law.”
He pointed out that the process also entailed a two-week objection period, where a list of the voters being transferred is publicly displayed before the changes are gazetted.
“You cannot just simply bring people by car, by bus, or by plane just like that, unless they go for a holiday. I don't know," Aziz said.
He was asked to respond to a claim by Pakatan Rakyat Selangor that Umno would be flying in “outside voters”, including those from the military, to vote in Selangor, even though they already have access to postal voting.
Malaysiakini contacted several top BN leaders to comment on the allegation, but has yet to receive any response.
Abdul Aziz was at the Police Training Centre in Kuala Lumpur this morning to observe the advance voting by police personnel.
