Radio DJs' silent protest over MCA's negative ads

your say Cala: MCA, please win with dignity. Clearly, the owners of the 988 radio station assume that they can air all sorts of slanderous advertisement irresponsibly without worrying about the backlash from their listeners.

To the DJs in 988, these immoral advertisements are wrong, hurting the listeners, and doing injustice to the society. I salute the DJs for making their stand known. Thank you, sirs.

Apacerita: My admiration for their bravery against their bosses. A good example to the youngsters out there to follow their heart and not listen blindly to the authorities.

Dappy: I have stopped watching Malaysian TV channels, and luckily in Johor we can watch Singapore TV.

Actually MCA and BN are being very stupid, nowadays people are smart and Internet-savy and will not be so easily fooled.

Their disgusting ads will definitely backfire on them as they really irritate us. More votes will go to Pakatan to teach BN a lesson for not engaging in a fair fight.

The Star rejects advert from DAP

Kit P: For such a long-established company, The Star does not understand the concept of "risk management". By taking such a blatantly partisan line, it is setting the paper and its employees up for a corporate disaster in the event Pakatan Rakyat takes over the federal government after May 5.

The earlier excuse that it had no choice but to accept the MCA-paid advertisements would then be exposed as a lie.

Anonymous_40a7: To those who think DAP publicity chief Tony Pua and DAP shouldn't retaliate with their own ads, you are not seeing the bigger picture.

He is actually showing who actually owns The Star - and he was proven right when the ads were rejected. Smart move, I may say.

Ecurb: Print out the ads and distribute them as flyers. The newspaper vendors will be very keen to 'insert' them into the newspapers. And possibly that could be even cheaper. Some news vendors may even do it for free.

Onyourtoes: After the election, The Star should be nationalised and its shares sold to NGOs and the public. Each individual or organisation shall not be allowed to hold more than 100,000 shares in The Star .

Let's make The Star a communal company/property. The same goes to Utusan Malaysia, New Straits Times, Berita Harian , the Chinese papers and all private TV stations.

Maplesyrup: The Star is a business concern, and being publicly listed means not only is MCA a shareholder but ordinary men and women, too, are stakeholders.

If it is indeed true that The Star has refused to accept ads placed by Pakatan, the shareholders of The Star should haul up its directors and make them explain their action.

That is what BN wants, right? If they reject it, doesn't this contradict what they say?
