State police contingent headquarters (IPK) management department head SAC Hasanuddin Hassan said, of the total, the police had issued 106 investigation papers which resulted in nine arrests on various election-related offences.
Among them were the arrest of a 30-year-old man suspected of pulling down flags and posters of a candidate belonging to a political party in Bandar Baru Klang about 9.30pm yesterday.
"However, the man was released on police bail after his statement was recorded," Hasanuddin told a press conference at the Selangor IPK media centre in Shah Alam today.
Hasanuddin, who was appointed police spokesperson for cases relating to the general election at Selangor IPK, said a 54-year-old woman was detained for locking three ballot boxes with her own padlocks after early voting ended at the Kajang Utama Territorial Army Camp near Shah Alam.
