Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Said leads the list of state executive council members to take their oath of office at Istana Maziah in Kuala Terengganu today.

The swearing-in ceremony was held before the Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.

ahmad said terengganu mb pc 230408 02 Ahmad, 56 ( right ), who is Terengganu BN chief, is appointed Terengganu Menteri Besar for the second term following the coalition's victory in winning 17 out of 32 state seats in Sunday's 13th general election. It will govern with a majority of two seats.

Ahmad retained the Kijal state seat with a 4,204-vote majority against PAS' Hazri Jusoh.

Ahmad, the eighth Terengganu Menteri Besar, was first appointed to the post on March 2008.

Besides the menteri besar post, Ahmad also holds the portfolios on planning, finance, investment, land, petroleum, natural resources, local government and housing.

The state executive councillors who were sworn included three old face. One of them, Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman (Seberang Takir), is appointed chairperson of the Science & Technology, Environment, Green Technology and Water Committee.

The other two are Rozi Mamat (Telemung), as state Youth & Sports and Human Resource Committee chairperson, and Dr A Rahman Mokhtar (Kuala Besut) who heads the state committee on health, women, family and community development.

Also appointed to the state cabinet lineup are former state assembly speaker Tengku Putera Tengku  Awang (Kuala Berang) as Industry and Trade Committee chairperson; Mohd Jidin Shafee (Permaisuri) as Tourism, Information, Communications and Culture Committee chairperson; Ir Rosli Othman (Kemasik) as Public Works and Transport Committee chairperson ; Nawi  Mohamad (Hulu Besut) as Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Plantation Industry and Commodity Committee chairperson; A Latiff Awang (Pengkalan Berangan) as Government Transformation Delivery and Performance Management and Information Technology Committee chairperson; Roslee Daud (Bukit Besi) as Entrepreneur, Rural Development, Consumerism and Cooperatives chairperson and Ghazali Taib (Ajil) as Education, Higher Education, Innovation and Special Functions Committee chairperson.

Also present at the function were state secretary Mazlan Ngah, state legal adviser Noor Bahri Baharuddin and state financial officer Abdul Razak Ismail.
