Police have arrested a man to facilitate in the investigation over Customs deputy director-general Shaharuddin Ibrahim's murder case.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh said the 56-year-old suspect was nabbed in Petaling Jaya, Selangor at around 8.30am yesterday.

"The police will take the man to court today to make the application for a remand order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code," he said in a statement here today.

NONE During the 8.15am on April 26, Shaharuddin ( left ) was on his way to work when a two men on a motorcycle pulled up to his car and fired three gunshots. He was pronounced dead an hour later at the Putrajaya Hospital.

In another development, Mohmad said two men aged between 35 and 40 were arrested in connection with the death of a man in Taman Billion, Cheras, also on April 26.

"The suspect has been remanded until Wednesday to facilitate in the investigation," he said.

R. Karikaalan, 29, died after two out of 10 gunshots fired by two men on motorcycle at a traffic light junction at the Taman Billion roundabout, Cheras, hit him.

In the 11.30am incident, Karikaalan's 60-year-old mother was also injured.
