Selangor Gerakan will not close its operations rooms and will continue as usual despite its debacle in the 13th general election, said its chairperson, Senator A Kohilan Pillay.

“We will continue our services as usual because we always appreciate the voters and we will not disappoint them,” he told a news conference in Petaling Jaya today.

Despite the Barisan Nasional (BN) dismal performance in Selangor, he said the coalition recorded an increase in the number of voters in four seats contested by Selangor Gerakan, namely the Puchong parliamentary seat and three state seats - Teratai, Bukit Lanjan and Bukit Gasing.

He attributed Selangor Gerakan’s poor showing to young and new voters being hoodwinked by the opposition on its grandiose plan which might end up being empty promises.

Meanwhile, Kohilan said Gerakan party elections at the branch, division and state level would be held from next month until October.
