DAP today lodged a police report against a posting on a Selangor BN Facebook account that allegedly made “malicious and defamatory” remarks about the party.

“The posting was made last Friday, and contained malicious and defamatory accusations against DAP leader Lim Kit Siang and his campaign during the general election.

NONE “It was from the Sayangi Selangor Facebook account overseen by Mohd Zin Mohamed ( right ), the Selangor BN coordinator...” said party elected representative Lau Weng San.

“We urge the police to investigate the matter,” added Lau, who is the state assemblyperson for Kampung Tunku.

Lau lodged the report at the SEA Park police station in Petaling Jaya at 8.30am this morning, accompanied by other DAP representatives including Damansara Utama assemblyperson Yeo Bee Yin.

The Kampung Tunku assemblyperson said the posting alleged that Lim's strategy in the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat during the recently concluded polls included:

1) Buying the support of Malay youths via cash bribes, and

2) Trying to foster internal conflict amongst the Malays by pitting Umno, DAP and PAS Malays against each other.

The posting also claimed that Lau’s alleged actions may constitute an offence under Section 501 of the Penal Code, and asked the police to investigate Mohd Zin, who is the BN state coordinator in charge of all "propaganda and postings" on the state BN social media accounts.
