Johnny Mositun and Johnson Tee took their oath of office today as the deputy speakers of the Sabah legislative assembly.  

NONE They were sworn in before Yang Dipertua Negeri Juhar Mahiruddin at the Istana Negeri. Also present were the wife of the Yang Dipertua Negeri, Norlidah RM Jasni, and High Court Judge Chew Soo Ho.   

Mositun ( right ), who is Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) information chief, had held the post of deputy speaker in the last state legislative assembly before its dissolution for the 13th general election.    

Tee, the Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) secretary-general, who is from Tamparuli, takes over the post held in the last assembly by Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice-president Frankie Chong Yu Chee.     

At the swearing-in ceremony today, Anita Baranting also took her oath of office as assistant minister of community development and consumer affairs.  

Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman, Deputy Chief Minister Yahya Hussin, Sabah State Legislative Assembly speaker Salleh Said and state cabinet ministers also attended the event.

In the 13th general election on May 5, Sabah BN won 48 of the 60 state seats and 22 of the 25 parliamentary seats in the state.

The state assemblypersons will take their oath of office on June 13 at the state legislative assembly building in Likas.

The Yang Dipertua Negeri is scheduled to open the new term of the state legislative assembly on June 17. The state assembly is scheduled to sit from June 18 to 20.
