Shamsul's dig on multi-cornered contests irks PAS
PKR Youth chief Mohd Shamsul Iskandar's criticisms against PAS at the PKR national congress yesterday have irked PAS Youth.
PKR Youth chief Mohd Shamsul Iskandar's criticisms against PAS at the PKR national congress yesterday have irked PAS Youth.
In a press release today, Perak PAS Youth chief Mohd Zawawi Abu Hassan said Shamsul should have used internal channels rather than air dirty linen in public.
"PAS is an Islamic movement which will not renege on their promises in line with Islamic ethics.
"If there is any misunderstanding, use the proper channels to ensure harmony and not provide opportunities to our opponents," said Mohd Zawawi.
He was referring to Shamsul's speech where he criticised PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang for fielding candidates where PKR was contesting, resulting in several multi-cornered contests.
In many of such constituencies, such as Kota Damansara and Semenyih, the opposition vote had far exceeded the votes received by BN, but the BN can candidate still won because the votes were split.
Shamsul also alleged that there were PAS candidates who slandered PKR candidates during the general election campaign.
Mohd Zawawi said that Shamsul had tried to pin the blame on Hadi without any form of discussion and it was difficult for PAS supporters to accept this.
