Adam Azfar, the eldest son of Malaysiakini Bahasa Malaysia editor Mohd Jimadie Shah Othman, passed away this morning after an extended battle with brain cancer.

Adam's plight touched the hearts of netizens when his condition was first reported late last year.

NONE The six-year-old spent seven months fighting a tumour termed pontine glioma located at the centre of his brain.

He underwent 30 sessions of radiotherapy and had received all manner of medications since the condition was discovered last November.

At the time, Adam was admitted to Serdang Hospital after vomiting and having difficulty walking.

He was then diagnosed with a 2.5cm tumour.

At 10.11am today at his home in Puchong, Adam's ordeal finally ended.

"Adam will be buried this evening. Many friends have shown up at the house," said Jimadie when contacted.

Prayers were conducted at Masjid Al-Syakirin, Puchong Utama, and the burial took place after asar prayers at the Muslim cemetery at 14th mile Jalan Puchong.
