Ex-law prof sentenced to five months in sex-for-grades case

A former National University of Singapore law professor in a sex-for-grades case has been sentenced to a jail term of five months and ordered to pay a penalty of S$514.80 (RM1,265) by a Subordinate Court in Singapore today.

The amount includes the balance of a dinner bill and the cost of two tailored shirts.

Local television Channel NewsAsia (CNA) reported that Tey Tsun Hang, 42, was convicted of corruptly obtaining gifts and sex from former student Darinne Ko.

He was found guilty last Tuesday after a trial that spanned five months.

Tey was convicted of four counts of corruption and could have been jailed up to five years and fined S$100,000 (RM245,767) on each charge, added CNA.
