Hasmy again appointed chairperson of Suhakam

The statement said Prof Dr Khaw Lake Tee, Prof Dr Mahmood Zuhdi A Majid and James Deva Nayagam had also been reappointed as Suhakam commissioners for the same period.
It added that Prof Dr Aishah Bidin, Francis Johen anak Adam and Sylvester Madating @ Nordin Kasim were appointed as new members of Suhakam.
According to the PMO, the appointments had received the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah as provided for under Sub-section 5(2) of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia Act 1999 (Act 597).
“And in accordance with Sub-section 6(1) of Act 597, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong had also consented to Tan Sri Hasmy Agam’s reappointment as Suhakam chairperson,” the statement added.
