EC: Swearing in lawmakers shows Pakatan hypocrisy

your say CQ Muar: Such audacity to call the opposition hypocrites. Election Commission deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar doesn't sound like a literate man by defending himself with such desperate justifications.

Are you implying the hundreds of thousands who attended the Black 505 rallies were wrong, and unjustly protesting?

The message is clear - the masses want the infamous EC duo and five others to step down with immediate effect.

We demand you act wisely before being kicked out in shame and ignominy - you won't be missed for sure. Stop insulting the opposition and the rakyat, you numbskull.

Quigonbond: You've got to take your hats off to these Election Commission (EC) clowns. They can really recycle the same stale arguments thinking if they repeat it enough Malaysians will buy it.

Here too are our typical rejoinders:

1) If the elections had been free and fair, Pakatan Rakyat will be in the federal government now.

2) Good thing Pakatan took part in the elections despite knowing the odds are stacked against them because at least in Parliament, they can still speak up and don't let any policy get steamrolled by 100 percent BN majority.

3) Anyone can resign - the Agong will simply have to appoint someone else. Is EC deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar saying even in near death due to sickness, the constitution does not permit that person to resign?

4) Wan Ahmad must be deaf and blind if he doesn't know that more than 30 petitions have been filed, and also almost the same number by BN.

This whole tirade from Wan Ahmad is as if BN has abandoned him.

Mahashitla: Wan Ahmad, do you expect Pakatan to let BN be more powerful in Parliament by default? You are the real hypocrite, and speaks like an Umno man.

With 50 petitions from both sides, any EC would have resigned en bloc, what more with the lies created in the not-even-seven-hour indelible ink.

If not for the gerrymandering and the billions of ringgit which PM Najib Razak and his crony businessmen splashed to buy votes, and with a close-one-eye EC on electoral fraud, BN would most probably garner only 40 percent of popular votes.

Do not insult the intelligence and power of the rakyat. We want you and the entire EC leadership to go.

Equalizer98: This is a clear case of playing politics when you are supposed to act neutral, without fear or favour.

If the EC commissioners do not call for an emergency meeting and remove this 'politician' then something is wrong somewhere.

What the opposition is saying is that the elections were not conducted fairly and freely. Had that been the case, they would have won the elections hands down.

Pakatan MPs have no problem taking their oaths because they won their seats inspite your widespread cheating. If not for your cheating on behalf of Umno, most Umno-BN candidates would have lost their deposits.

The rallies must go on until you and your boss, the EC chief, step down.

Ayfy19: It is not the place for an EC deputy commissioner to make comments about politicians being hypocrites. He should be above all the politicking.

He hasn't the right understanding of his role. Such a person is not fit to be an EC officer and must step down.

Cat Lover: It must be unique in global political history for Malaysia to holding a series of mass demonstrations just to see a duo of civil servants removed from office.

With his comments, Wan Ahmad again proves that he is utterly unfit for his job.
