The landslide that took the lives of three workers at a construction site in Taman Sierra, Ukay Perdana yesterday morning may be due to negligence as there was a complete absence of safety management in carrying out work at the site, said Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) corporate planning department director Rosliza Mohd.  

She said the incident was not related to structural or slope failure.  

She said based on MPAJ's inspection at the incident site, the accident took place when digging was being carried out until the 3.5-metre earth wall fell, burying workers working below.  

"As a result of the accident, three construction workers died while one of them was seriously injured in the 11.30am incident," she said in a statement to Bernama tonight.  

In the incident, three Burmese workers, Mohamad Alam Yusup Ali, 33, Abdul Korim Was Korim, 36, and Ramzawihakim Soyotdulah, 26, were killed while Zokoria Shobualam was injured.  

Rosliza said following the incident, MPAJ inspected the site with representatives of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and issued an immediate stop-work notice to the developer.
