Minister slammed for presuming dog trainer's guilt

vox populi small thumbnail Rakyatfirst: Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Jailani Johari must first send all those ministers and deputy ministers involved in corruption and extramarital affairs for Jakim's moral counselling, not dog trainer Maznah Mohd Yusof as he suggests.

2zzzxxx: When there is a ‘sensational' case like this Umno's leaders will waste no time to hurl themselves in the spotlight to get attention. Jailani Johari is one such person.

He should have looked at himself in a mirror before accusing Maznah of being "morally defective and requir(ing) rehabilitation". If there is anyone who needs "rehabilitation" it would be Jailani.

Keturunan Malaysia: Jailani Johari, it is typical about substandard people like you who gain your position by portraying yourself as the champion of race, religion and country. Of course you will keep doing so with every given opportunity.

Why? Because your job depends on exactly just that and not because you are well qualified and the best on a level playing field. And not in the very least because you are a good Muslim.

Tell me, what sort of laws work on a guy who is the Prosecution, The Judge, The Jury and the Executioner all in one?

They should spend more time sorting out the country's security problems, rather than sending a person to Segamat police station for something that is a total waste of time.

Anwar: Gov't overreacted to dog trainer's video

Lionking: It is far easier for the BN to harp on petty issues like dog trainer Maznah Mohd Yusof's controversial Aidilfitri greeting video, instead of the more difficult issues like our downgrading by Fitch, crime running out of control and a messed up education system.

Little does BN realise that the more they harp on these petty issues, the more they drive away the right thinking public.

Mahashitla: Umno has been playing with race and religious issues all this while, that any minor issue or offence which may have infringed on Islam is deemed more serious than murder.

The gravity of Maznah's deemed offensive video is not really very serious and as PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said, Islamic counselling for her should be appropriate.

Even the apologetic couple Alvivi who had posted their bak kut teh greeting, can be referred for Islamic knowledge counselling instead of using the so called Islamic sledge hammer to kill two tiny mosquitoes.

Islam is a peaceful and compassionate religion, but I can see Umno acting differently.

Anonymous_4056: The Islamic authorities in all the states of Malaysia are given too much power and are abused by the Umno government. They are found to be overreacting on all issues pertaining to Islam.

They would under-react when Umno and those connected to it commit transgressions of all sorts. This is Umno's brand of Islam.

DontPlayGod: Anwar Ibrahim said it correctly; endemic corruption is still the norm and it is still being continued since former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad's time.

Nobody wants this to change as this is the corruption started by their great leader. Who in this party would want to change this policy, when everybody and every crony is having a field day in putting their dirty hands in the till?

ONG: Anwar said, "...so call her up and advise her, explain to her." Advise Maznah on what? Explain what to her? It seems that Anwar agrees with Jakim that Maznah has done wrong. The difference being that Jakim chooses to charge her, whereas Anwar chooses to advise her and to talk to her.

Anwar is described here as one "who was once one of the best known religious conservatives in the 1970s". I don't know what sort of a religious conservative Anwar was in the 1970s, but many religious conservatives tend to be two faced hypocrites.

Gunnerrun: Every single being created has a purpose to fulfill on Earth, dogs included. Why go through all the trouble in bringing diversity on this planet when god could have just settled for one race, one flower, one animal, one fruit, one religion etc?

Yet we grouse and fight with one another every day about the differences - don't you think it's for some reason? Perhaps it is for us to understand that we should embrace all these differences and come together as one in the end?

Of course, if there's just one item for everything, I think all of us would have chosen not to be born in this world because it would have been simply a bbbbbbbooooooorrrrrringggggg world to begin with.

James_3392: I wonder if Jakim has ever advised Umno members that corruption is haram, or to own a brewery is sinful, or to sit as deputy chairperson in a gambling giant will condemn a Muslim to hell.
