Danone Dumex Malaysia has made a precautionary recall on specific batches of products in Malaysia following the latest information received from Fonterra, the world’s largest exporter of dairy products and a leading new Zealand multinational dairy company, that some of the ingredients supplied may have been contaminated.
However, the company said none of the products tested and sold in Malaysia indicated any contamination so far.
“The safety of our consumers is our primary concern,” it said, adding that Danone Dumex’s quality and food safety management system included rigorous testing procedures of their finished products.
The company, which apologised for any inconvenience or stress caused by the issue, said parents can obtain further information from the customer careline on at 1-800-381038.
Meanwhile, a random check by Bernama revealed that almost all the products, including Dumex Dupro Step 2, Mamex Cherish Step 1, Mamex Explore Step 2 and Bebelac Step 2 have been taken off the shelves of supermarkets in Kuching.
