Perkasa views the proposed selling of Malaysia Airlines System (MAS) will only benefit certain parties and not the airline itself, Khazanah (Khazanah Nasional Berhad) or the public.
Its information chief Ruslan Kassim said the people saw the decision of selling off government assets as profiting certain parties vith vested interest.
"Selling of MAS will also be against the concept of the New Economic Policy that was introduced by the late Tun Abdul Razak (Malaysia's second prime minister).
"The people demand complete and detailed explanation from those responsible," he said in a statement issued today following reports on the suggestion for MAS be sold off.
Ruslan also called on Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Idris Jala, who is also a former MAS managing manager, to explain the latter's suggestion for the national carrier be sold off.
