Kelantan Umno election committee chairperson Hasan Harun said this is because many of the Puteri Umno members are living outside the state.
“This is quite a problem for Puteri Umno. Only 11 members are needed for the quorum to hold the meeting,” he told reporters in Kota Baru today.
The 2,204 Puteri Umno branches in 14 divisions in Kelantan must hold their meetings by Sept 15.
Hasan said the same problem is faced by Umno Youth branches but it only involved about 30 percent.
Many young people in Kelantan have relocated to Kuala Lumpur and other major cities because the PAS-led state government failed to provide job opportunities.
