The government will find the causes and the parties responsible for the bus accident in Genting Highlands which killed 37people today.

NONE "No stones will be left unturned," said acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein ( right ) when asked about the accident at the Defence Ministry Aidilfitri open house in Kuala Lumpur today.

Transport Ministry agencies such as the Road Safety Department (RSD) and the Road Transport Department (RTD) had been directed to find causes for the accident.

Hishammuddin urged all parties not to start the blame game because such a tragedy would make many people to become emotional.

Asked whether the government would ask tourists to skip Genting Highlands, he said it all depends on the initial investigation.

"The accident can be due to the condition of the bus, driver or road. There are so many possibilities," he added.

NONE Meanwhile, Works Minister Fadillah Yusof said it is too early to say whether the bus accident in Genting Highlands was due to the road conditions.

"There are many other aspects that should be taken into account such as negligence and mechanical problems.

"I suggest that the road owner and the resort developer discuss with RSD after receiving the police report on the accident," he told Bernama today.

Meanwhile, Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) chairperson Syed Hamid Albar said SPAD would only act after receiving the police report.

"Many aspects should be taken into account such as the condition of the bus, road, licence and driver. SPAD will only act based on police investigation."

The accident is the worst for the country in 17 years, after 17 people were killed in an accident in July 1996.
