NFC clarifications 'nothing to do' with Shahrizat's bid

) said Shahrizat had never been involved with the project in any way, and that “it is only between me and my children”.
He said that the company had waited long enough to ensure that there was less emotion about the project.
“It is for us to straighten what was done wrong by the opposition. When the two (PKR’s Zuraida Kamaruddin and Rafizi Ramli) made the allegations in 2011, I was subjected to investigations almost every day.
“It has nothing to do with her, it has nothing to do with her election, before or after the general election," Salleh said.
Salleh has since last month been coming up with a series of explanations on his company's involvement in the National Feedlot Centre.
Today, he reiterated that the company was only occupying 1,500 acres of the 5,000-acre site allotted to the centre in Gemas, Negri Sembilan.
He also revealed that he had lodged separate
police reports
against Zuraida, who is the Ampang MP, and Rafizi, the Pandan MP, for slander for attributing the 2010 Auditor-General's Report on the National Feedlot Centre to the NFC.
Last year, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) cleared the former women, family and community development minister ( right ) of involvement in the awarding of the multi-million ringgit NFC contract to her family.
Following the NFC fiasco, several Wanita Umno leaders have said that they want to see Shahrizat replaced .
Shahrizat not afraid to do battle
Former Puteri Umno chief Azalina Othman Said is said to be mounting a challenge against Shahrizat.
Shahrizat was reported by Bernama as saying earlier this month that she was not afraid that the NFC issue would be used against her in the Umno elections.
Nominations for the Umno Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings will be held on Sept 21.
Recently, Shahrizat's candidacy was given a boost with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak appointing her as his special adviser on women's affairs.
