The police have completed the investigation papers on the owner of a resort in Sedili Besar, Kota Tinggi, who allowed a surau at the premises to be used for other religious ritual last Aug 10.

Johor police chief Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the papers had been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.

"We are now waiting for further instruction," he said when asked on the latest development in the case.

The police had submitted the papers to the DPP last Aug 14, but they were returned as certain aspects, including statements that were recorded, were incomplete.

Following the incident, the 45-year-old owner of the resort, a Singaporean with Malaysian permanent resident (PR) status, was remanded for four days to facilitate police investigation.

He has been charged and awaiting trial.

In another development, the Johor police are seeking public cooperation to locate the whereabouts of 10 men to facilitate investigations into several robberies, attempted murders and murder cases reported in the state.

The suspects are locals aged between 24 and 25.

They are R Vadiveloo, 29, from Segamat;  R Poobalan, 24, of Jalan Camar 14, Taman Perling; R Raj Selvanathan, 25, Segamat; F Prem, 26, from Sri Larkin; and S Sugumaran, 34, from Susur 5, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak.

Also on the wanted list are M Kesavam, 34, and K Nadesan, 45, from Sungai Petani, Kedah; D Selvam, 35, from Taman Johor Jaya; S Subramaniam, from Taman Gunung Emas, Ulu Tiram in Johor Bahru and AS Devid Dass, 30, from Gunung Rapat, Ipoh, Perak.
