Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) is currently upgrading a water pumphouse in Wangsa Maju and monitoring the operating system for 24 hours to avoid disruption of water supply.

Syabas Corporate Communications and Public Affairs assistant general manager Priscilla Alfred said the upgrading work began in August and was expected to be completed by March next year.

“The pumphouse electrical system is faulty and the upgrading work is being monitored. The pump house is also unable to cater to the needs of residents in the area,” she told reporters at the Syabas headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Earlier, in a statement, she said the water interruption in Gombak had recovered by 85 percent, while 90 percent of all the other areas involved would recover in stages.
