your say Fair and Just: While temples are being demolished, even desecrated, children made to eat in a shower room, the parents who made public this school arrangement questioned, their children questioned by the police without the knowledge of the parents, students struggling for places in universities, all MIC chief G Palanivel can think of is ensuring he is not challenged at the party polls.

But now that his position is apparently safe, he is more concerned about whether he should continue beyond 2016. He is also thinking aloud about who might eventually succeed him in 2016, if, and a big if, he should decide to stand down.

And he is supposed to be a leader of his community. What a laugh and what an unabashed public stance. With leaders such as these, the community he claims to represent do not need adversaries.

Sashi: Palanivel, go and look in the mirror and ask yourself, are you fit to be a president? You have basically done nothing for the Indian community and I am damn sure you will do nothing until you retire - you have no guts to defend the Indian community.

Ksn: So Palanivel, your focus for the next three years is on the MIC constitution, right? I thought for a moment that you would do something to improve the economic situation of the Indians.

What a focus for the MIC president and MIC, not that any Indian believes that MIC can, will do anything towards that. Great strategy, Palani.

Aries46: This demolition exercise of the 100-year-old Sri Muneswarar Kalyamman temple looks to be a collaboration between MIC chief G Palanivel and Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in aid of Hup Seng Consolidated Bhd.

Instead of going to the site and observing the demolition for himself or at least getting feedback from those at the temple, Palanivel has been issuing statements from his ‘comfort zone' denying the demolition and desecration in progress, attributing his source as information received from Tengku Adnan.

All Indian parties aligned to BN must be held responsible for this sacrilege on Hindus. And deputy minister Loga Bala Mohan's revelation that the standard operating procedure (SOP) for enforcement teams allowing them to enter temples in boots is a sacrilege.

No temple allows even slippers in its premises even for its devotees or visitors. Temple caretakers must never allow enforcement personnel anywhere near the temple as those who demolish temples are sinners and considered unholy and unclean.

SS Dhaliwal: The Indians better wake up and smell the roses; this is the kind of systematic racial and religious persecution that has been going on for 55 years now, and yet you are so easily misled by a false hunger strike and a few hundred ringgit in handouts.

Come GE14 you lot will forget and return to BN once more. It seems that all of you are accustomed to getting slaps on the face by BN, but fight back and behave like gangsters when treated with respect by others.

The Indians don't deserve any sympathy, you have brought this on yourselves.

Anonymous #66797900: Rightly said by Penang Deputy Chief Minister P Ramasamy. The Indians deserve to be treated this way as they voted BN despite their earlier demolitions.

However, both Loga and deputy minister P Waythamoorthy were never elected but appointed to office, so how is one to object?

Baiyuensheng: And why are the Indians still supporting Umno-BN's ‘ketuanan Melayus'? It is better to have dignity than to beg and be treated like a dog. The Chinese may suffer for years to come because of their actions in the last GE, but almost all of them rejected these racist ‘ketuanan' Umno.

Alfanso: Lying is a virtue in politics and Umno excels in this area. The important thing about lying is they have to say it repeatedly, preferably from different sources, and it becomes the truth.

Disgusted: How would they like it if a demolition squad does the same to some surau or mosque? The whole lot of Islamic groups aligned with Umno and PAS would be baying for the blood of the people responsible if they were non-Muslims.

The police may even arrest the people responsible for it and hold them without bail, and charge them under the severest laws. Only Islam can't be questioned or challenged, which they interpret as 'insulting the most pure, true and honourable' religion.

We have two sets of laws - one for Islam, and the others don't matter and can be treated like trash.

Freethinker: So it's okay to destroy Hindu deities but it is not okay for Buddhists to meditate in a private surau?

If damage had been done by a non-Muslim to a surau, I'm sure there would be a major uproar in the country, and the offenders would be arrested and put in jail. Malaysia truly the land of possibilities.
