Judges had more 'scrotal gumption' under Pak Lah

Lim chong leong : If the judiciary had any more gumption in their scrotum, it had nothing to do with Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's doing, but more like his undoing, as in he did nothing at all but slumber. In fact, during Pak Lah's years, everyone had scrotal gumption because it was like a free-for-all because he just didn't care who did what or who did who, as long as no one disturbed either his slumber, his bereavement or his honeymoon.

Thequest: Hey, Lim. You should understand that it is far better not to do anything to disturb/upset a well-running system of which one knows nothing much, than to do something to destroy it through sheer exercise of power and half knowledge.

In this country, the best PM is not someone who does a lot of things. It is better to have a PM who does just the bare minimum, to ensure peace and harmony in the country. Hitler had his own vision and did a lot of things. Was that vision and action good for Germany or the world? Likewise there was a PM who did a lot of things. On hindsight, wouldn't it be better if he just did not tamper with what has been established?

Sugus: What is former Court of Appeal judge Mahadev Shanker implying? Minister in the PM's Department Shahidan Kassim is the unwarranted, unqualified law enforcer, and who helped him to be in the cabinet if it is not for our PM. There is going to be another Lingam orchestra. Do we still have fair judgements in Bolehland? Keep away or you will be slain.

Marde Parde: In Pakistan the judiciary managed to change the government when the Chief Justice was wrongly sacked. Why can't the judiciary tsand up for justice in Malaysia? Are they enjoying the perks, like contracts and position upon retirement.

Ranjit Singh: Mr Maha... please don't undermine the judiciary. If you have felt the judiciary had been prostituted, you should have resigned in protest then, not now.

Ferdtan: Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's tenure as prime minister was quoted as the weakest and worst PM by most; that was before the current PM Najib Abdul Razak came along. From hindsight in comparison between Badawi and the penultimate PM Najib, it is best described as out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Abdullah came out as a nice gentleman who had good intentions. Though he was known for not doing enough, and had been accused as a ‘sleeping' PM during his term as the top man, he was never destructive, damaging and vindictive in his politics.

Bluntly put, he has ‘no evil bone in his body' unlike the current PM and his predecessor, Mahathir Mohamad. Najib is a good actor; in the last general election when he needed non-Malay support he came out with his inclusive 1Malaysia.

Gosh, he even went as far as to appear for the Chinese New Year TV commercials, wearing Chinese costume no Chinese nowadays wear, to woo the Chinese voters. His portrait of an avuncular leader, not only failed to get votes, but was ridiculed as a joke. All of him is false, totally unreal; rhetoric remains words.

Now with the Umno elections looming he has turned 360 degrees to be a zealous Malay partisan. Who is the real Najib Razak? Who do we pick as a better PM between the two? Mahathir said of BN, "Better the devil you know than the angel you don't." We know between the two, Badawi is comparatively an angel, so who is the devil here?

Anonymous_4031: Yes, ex-PM Badawi opened up the judiciary. The suspended or sacked former judges were duly compensated by the Abdullah Ahmad Badawi administration. To right a wrong was the only way to move forward.

It was also under PM Badawi that royal commissions of inquiry (RCIs) were set up to look into the VK Lingam video scandal, the on Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) , the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal report (?).

Regrettably, the ex-PM could not take firm action, when action was needed. He could have put his foot down! Even when some plotted to oust him, he meekly allowed them to do so. He could have thrown them out, as PM. Probably because he was, and is, a gentleman. He did not want to rock the boat of Umno or BN! Did he do right by giving way for Najib and Muhyiddin Yassin to take over?

Badawi's one term is better than Mahathir's 22 years. His legacy for one term will forever live on while Mahathir's 22 years will forever be cursed.

Satay satay: Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is the best PM many have witnessed in Malaysia. If he is bad, take a look at his immediate predecessor and the present PM. He did many things fairly for all races, not that he was asleep but was mentally pleasant to God.
